Charlotte County fences & gates
Punta Gorda sits on the south shore of Charlotte Harbor where the Peace River comes in. It's about 66 miles from our Bradenton home base, and the southern end of our regular run down I-75.
Fencing in Punta Gorda
Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles are canal communities with deed restrictions and a strong preference for clean, open fences that keep water views. The historic downtown has smaller lots and older homes where a picket or decorative fence fits the street.
This is also a city that knows hurricanes; Charley in 2004 and Ian in 2022 both hit hard here. Rust-proof materials and sturdy posts are worth it.

Start my quoteYes. The City of Punta Gorda runs its own building permits inside city limits. Outside the city, Charlotte County handles them.
Ornamental aluminum is the common choice: open, so the canal view stays, and a powder-coated finish handles salt. Check your community's deed restrictions first.
